The Institute offers courses and programs for individuals who are working in schools and other educational settings and who already have their initial teaching license. The courses, workshops, and institutes that are offered are content rich, high quality professional development. Suggestions for additional programming are welcome!
Summer Institute Series
The summer offerings represent courses across the disciplines including Mathematics, Modern languages, English, Physical Education, Art and Technology, Special Education, and English Language Learners.

Special Education Licensure Program
This 12 month program meets the Massachusetts Department of Education's standards and competencies for the license "Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities". Topics addressed include modifying curriculum, designing curriculum-based assessments, managing severe behaviors, developing IEP's, and partnering with community resources.

Masters in Education
Masters in Education degrees are offered to experienced educators who wish to develop their abilities and advance their careers in educational settings. The Masters in Education degree is offered in the following five areas:
- Mathematics
- Science
- Literacy
- Special Education
- Leadership
The Institute for Professional Development operates on the quarter system. The Masters degree is 40 quarter hours; each course is 4 quarter hours.
The format for all of the Masters in Education is the same:-
Two courses are required, 8 quarter credits
